Nourish New York is Looking for an Garde Manger Cold Production Chef

This is a hands-on and culinary role that will focus on the continued growth of our business. The Garde Manger / Cold Production Chef will be responsible for the preparation and execution of all the cold production that includes salads, sandwiches grab and go food items for our corporate clients this position could also support the main kitchen with production when needed. This is a great entry level opportunity that has benefits and a M-F schedule.

The successful candidate will:

  • manage the daily cold food production including production planning and controls
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train front-line employees
  • be detail-oriented and accountable

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • a culinary background in a high-volume environment and commissary kitchen
  • inventory management, production planning experience
  • culinary leadership skills
  • proficient computer skills and highly organized

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
