The Accounts Payable Vendor Maintenance Specialist is accountable for maintaining the integrity of the vendor master file data, performing vendor maintenance, providing payables customer service to vendors, business units, and customers, and resolving exceptions and issues on invoices to maintain approval routing and payment processing. The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function in a challenging and dynamic environment. This position requires confidential information to be handled in a discreet and professional manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

At least two years of recent experience (within the past 1 - 3 years) in Accounts Payable, Accounting or Finance. Demonstrated customer service experience and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers, and customers. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and learn new skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and initiative.
  • Work with a sense of urgency when dealing with time sensitive matters.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary.

Preferred:

  • Experience with the set up and maintenance of the vendor master file.
  • Associate’s degree.
  • Previous experience with Banner ERP.
  • Familiarity with Concur solutions software and PaymentWorks.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite

This position requires a background check.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
