JOB MISSION: As a global product creation merchant you will be expected to meet the consumer at the intersection of sport and culture. In this role you will create a consumer lead product range for New Balance Men’s and Women’s Tennis Apparel, as well as lead the apparel representations at key race partnerships globally. In this role you will connect to a wide range of cross-functional New Balance teams and be part of a group that values partnership across the organization with the goal of highlighting key New Balance key items and stories that elevate the brand.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and execute a Tennis product range that honors the New Balance brand, as well as attracts, excites and connects consumers across the globe while achieving KPI targets including revenue, margin and efficiency.
  • Build a clear strategy of product lifecycle that integrates the launch of newness into the market while understanding how to bring freshness in existing styles, building strength and recognition of core key item franchises.
  • Create and execute a 3-year product launch and franchise strategy for Tennis and special Coco Gauff apparel energy product.
  • Ensure best-in-class performance match kits are developed with modern styling for the family of NB Athletes.
  • Monitor and leverage trend insights across the running events market landscape to build a compelling product range across multiple price tiers and categories for our target consumer.
  • For Race collections, work closely with product creation teams, marketing and with the global merchandising to bring stories to life cohesively across the globe.
  • Work with premier partners at New York Road Runners and London Marathon Group to find mutual success in amplifying the runner’s experience at the events with our brand.
  • Partner with your footwear counterparts to create credible outfitting by race/event that generates interest and solidifies authenticity in the space with the target consumer.
  • Communicate goals, expectations, and responsibilities surrounding the product to the appropriate teams, direct report and upwards to management.
  • Deliver presentations to senior management, regional key stakeholders, customers, and external partners.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of experience in product management, merchandising or buying within the Apparel industry.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong merchandising and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in creating briefing tools and templates with PowerPoint or Keynote.
  • Excellent in Excel (Pivot tables, V-look ups, Formulas)
  • Strong strategy building skills that will help shape the future.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize and pivot when needed.
  • Understands global segmentation needs across the omni-channel marketplace.
  • Consumer obsessed with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Domestic and International travel probable.

Flexible Work Schedule

For decades we have fostered a unique culture founded on our values with a particular focus on in-person teamwork and collaboration. Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced “Work from Anywhere” (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
