For our Varna, Bulgaria office, we are looking to onboard a Marine Operations Analyst, who possess knowledge of and interest in the marine transport industry, being an active participant on the marine shipping operations team.

What You Will Do

  • Supporting Freight Traders, by Charter Party review and analysis
  • Supporting Voyage Managers (VM-s) in tasks that include voyage data management using tools such as IMOS, Power BI, and Microsoft SharePoint;
  • Prepare freight invoices in IMOS strictly following the agreed Recap terms and/or other commercial agreements.
  • Prepare laytime calculations/secondary claims in reasonable time and submit to counterparties for futher negotiation.
  • Analyze data with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Negotiate the laytime calculations and/or all secondary claims maintaining the maximum claim amount by strictly protecting Koch’s interests.
  • Support the good relations with customers.
  • Monitor closely the PnL impact.
  • Finalization of completed voyages.

Post Voyage Matter:

  • Prepare the hire invoice to Owners and ensure payment is scheduled in a timely manner and in accordance with the agreed terms.
  • Raise Hire invoices to Charterers and ensure timely payment has been made from our counterparties.
  • Prepare the Provisional Final Hire Statement when finalizing the Time Charter.
  • Monitor closely the Off-Hire Periods & the Underperformance Claims and ensure their correct and accurate reflection in IMOS
  • Process any additional costs/claims and ensure amounts are strategically handled.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate through both written correspondence and verbal communication
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Team-player
  • Ability to create metrics by pulling data from multiple sources
  • Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and perform under pressure
  • Bachelor's Degree (Maritime, Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics preferred)
  • Experience in laytime and post fixture operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in IMOS and SEDNA

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Marine logistics or shipping experience
  • Previous Experience on a similar position.
  • Experience with charter party agreements.
  • Experience in a trading environment
