About The Role:

We are seeking a talented Art Director Summer Intern to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the development of creative efforts supporting client work that ranges from consumer to B2B, and everywhere in between. Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll contribute to multiple projects while working under the direction of more senior creatives.

We are looking for someone who understands the power of a big idea, the nuance of a great tactic, and the difference between the two. Someone who can execute against PR, marketing, advertising, digital social, and everything in-between. You’ll work across all types of media, as well as no media (that’s the PR thing).

Our ideal candidate will be excited about being an art director. We’ll look to you for solutions that bring ideas to life in engaging ways. You think of and (hopefully) make lots of things.

Responsibilities

  • Balance creativity and rationality (no, we can’t ‘buy an island’ for your canned beans idea.)
  • Communicate clearly.
  • Freehand, draw, and/or illustrate.
  • Fluent in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and other relevant Adobe programs.
  • Juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Perseverance – Sometimes ideas won’t work. Or sometimes clients won’t like them. We’re looking for someone who can shrug off the NO and keep pushing.
  • Open minded – we want you to bring all your knowledge to the table AND be open to learning new ways of thinking.
  • Think strategically and activate creatively.
  • Work well and closely with others.

Qualifications

  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) and, if hired, present proof of vaccination before start date. Candidates may request accommodation due to a disability
  • Basic knowledge of web design and user interface.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Work with writers and broader team members to effectively translate client objectives into creative vision.

Pay rate: $18/hour USD

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
