Area of Accountability:

Support safety as needed with direction from the EHS rep and HR manager. This may include working on day-to-day reporting, managing projects, data entry, as well helping with incident investigations and serving as a first responder for employee injuries.

Major Responsibilities (may vary depending on project):

  • Assist supervisory team with the incident investigation process to ensure the process is completed fully and in a timely manner from the initial incident to corrective action implementation.
  • Assist EHS rep. with tracking and conducting safety trainings that include monthly OSHA training, safety alert training, and annual required trainings.
  • Serve as a go to for supervisors, employees, and management for safety related questions and provide feedback on OSHA guidelines/regulations.
  • Support day-to-day activities such as daily safety inspections, data entry, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining Incident Tracking system (Velocity) to ensure accurate and updated information is captured appropriately.
  • Obtain and maintain first responder certification to help with employee injuries as needed.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be a currently enrolled in and working toward a degree in EHS or a related degree.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, lead teams, and provide timely follow-up.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
  • Willing to work in a hands-on environment.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
