The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Educator is responsible for developing and delivering a clinical onboarding and ongoing training program for DaVita’s Integrated Kidney Care Nurse Practitioners and other care team members. The advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical expertise in evidence-based practice, mentoring, and change leadership. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Educator is accountable for collaborating with members of the clinical and operations teams to design and implement this comprehensive clinical education curriculum, including classroom learning, virtual and blended teaching styles, on-the-job shadowing and coaching, and measuring competencies. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Educator is responsible for maintaining current professional knowledge and competencies and contributing to the advancement of DaVita’s IKC programs.

This role will work remote from a home office and will be expected to travel nationally 20-30% of the time to present in-person training.

In this role the Nurse Practitioner (NP) Educator will:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive onboarding clinical curriculum for Nurse Practitioners
  • Partner with clinical and operations lanes to develop ongoing clinical training materials that support program initiatives
  • Build and manage preceptor-ship programs to facilitate ongoing field-based learning
  • Develop clinical coaching and mentoring materials for local clinical use, exemplifying the DaVita Way and WE CARE behaviors
  • Create new clinical and program content for NPs and related teammates; help review and amend meeting content as it relates to clinical teammates
  • Ability to work remotely and travel as required to present in-person training.

The Shinning Star for our Nurse Practitioner (NP) Educator will have:

  • 4+ years experience developing educational content for clinical professionals including NPs, RNs, and/or physicians, pharmacists, etc.
  • Masters Degree in Business, Education, Instructional design, Nursing or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice(DNP) or Doctoral Degree in Nursing or Education Preferred
  • Nephrology Nurse Practitioner background required- CKD experience a benefit.
  • Behavioral Health or Psychiatric-Mental Health experience a plus.
  • Leadership experience or the drive to develop into a leadership role.
  • Comfortable presenting via WebEx or in-person
  • Solid change management skills
  • Possess strong technical skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Salary/ Wage Range

$100,100.00 - $147,000.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
