JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor. 

Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including: 

  • Emergency care 24/7 
  • Orthopedic and joint replacement services using emerging technology 
  • Cardiovascular services 
  • Maternity care and pediatric services 
  • Ambulatory surgery center 
  • Imaging services 
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation Center 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Admitting Representative greets patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; obtains demographic, financial and medical information for registration and identification, coordinates and assists in the completion of all activities relating to patient's finances, facilitates the collection and distribution of information and expedites a smooth and timely billing and collection process while adhering to department policies and procedures.

Requests and collects any patient liabilities due such as, co-payment, deductibles, co-insurance and compact rates and follows the department scripting for assigned area.

Monitors and expedites the necessary authorizations and approvals for hospital emergency room, outpatient service or elective surgeries per the designated insurance carriers.

Acts as a resource and liaison for employees within the department, as well as other inter-related hospital staff and all "guests" that need assistance or information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. 3 - 5 years recent experience in acute care hospital registration or business office environment
  3. Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and third party billing and collection procedures
  4. Experience or knowledge in admissions, registrations and insurance verification's is essential
  5. Basic computer skills
  6. Ability to speak Spanish / Bi-lingual - preferred
  7. Medical Terminology - preferred

Pay Range: $20.15 - $23.02

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Some college.

Experience:

Preferred: Customer service role and administrative role in medical facility, health insurance, or related area.
