As a Senior Product Designer at Street Context, you’ll have a direct and lasting impact on our flagship product, used every day by salespeople, traders, bankers, and other capital markets professionals. Our software provides intuitive and lightning-fast workflows to our users, getting them the data they need quickly so they can make money in the market.

You’ll be tasked with designing products and features by obsessing over every customer touchpoint in order to create outstanding user experiences. We place a premium on systems thinking and building responsibly; understanding the cascading impact of your decisions across our products and customers.

Product design at Street Context is collaborative by default. Product designers are ultimately responsible for the experiences they create but we expect you to gather input to inform your decisions. The Applications team has a deep understanding of our customers, the industry, and our products. We expect you to lean on the product manager and developers on your team, as well as customer research, to build well-considered and thoughtful products.

Successful designers at Street Context are opinionated and outcome-focused. We expect you to argue for the best user experiences but also be willing to make trade-offs in favour of getting the job done. A beautiful design will never trump an effective solution to a customer problem.

What will I be doing?

• Work through design problems from beginning to end, translating insights from research and analytics into concepts that form new products and features, and designing the detailed workflows and interactions required to make them a reality
• Sketch and prototype ideas to quickly assess their viability, and design the fine-grained details of components, interactions, and transitions
• Partner with product managers to define and evolve product roadmaps
• Work closely with engineers as you build, iterate on, and ship ideas
• Please note we feel product and design challenges benefit from getting smart people together in a room to solve them, as such this role will require some level of in-office presence

What skills and experience do I need?

• Experience designing software products and systems. You’ve helped ship products that people actually use.
• An understanding of the entire product development process, from problem solving and system thinking, through to detailed UI, visual, and interaction design
• Ability to design polished, high-fidelity mockups of your solutions using modern design tools such as Figma
• Motivated attitude and collaborative work style
• Passion for learning and contributing to make a great product better
• A portfolio that clearly outlines the problems you’ve taken on with your design work and touches on the process you applied to find solutions and overcome challenges.

It's a bonus if

• You have worked in a startup focused on enterprise software.
• You have experience working with or within the capital markets.
