Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Low Voltage BIM Technician, we'll count on you to:

  • Create electrical drawings for facilities, such as lighting systems, power systems, communications, security and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Develop entry-level drawings by using computer-aided design software under the direct supervision of other Electrical Technicians or Engineers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of procedures for production of design developments and construction documents, and a thorough knowledge of engineering planning, drafting and detailing
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
  • Strong computer skills Microsoft Office, AutoCAD
  • Database familiarity a plus
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 or more years of experience in designing electrical lighting, power and systems for building projects Experience in Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm highly desirable Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired
