Position Responsibilities:

  • Receives patients, guests, staff promptly and courteously upon arrival in the department. 
  • Notifies appropriate department personnel of scheduled patients' arrival and appointments to ensure efficient patient throughput.
  • Accurately generates/processes all departmental requisitions in a timely fashion. 
  • Coordinates requests for film/report records for the Film Library, as requested by the patient, and obtains appropriate identification and HIPAA approved release form.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of the RMS Scheduling Program.
  • Generates schedules daily for areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of the HBOC Star Radiology System, and is able generate, revise and cancel requisitions
  • Cross trains in other areas of department in order to provide coverage when staffing limitations occur
  • Is able to adapt to changing work assignments and adjusts pace to accept additional responsibilities, as needed.
  • Coordinates hours and time off with co-workers and manager in order to provide continuous and effective coverage.
  • Attends staff meetings as requested by manager or director.
  • On a daily basis, both in person and on the phone, consistently demonstrates patient confidentiality as required by MSMC policy.
  • Work space is clean and neat, and maintains adequate supplies as needed. 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • At least one year clinical experience; must have working knowledge of various computers operations; excellent telephone, communication and customer service skills.
