Primary Responsibilities

• Bridge and tunnel inspections throughout western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio
• Support HDR’s national inspection program on an occasional basis
• Load rating analyses using both PennDOT and commercially available software such as LARSA and STAAD
• Bridge design and rehabilitation
• Coordination and scheduling with clients, subcontractors, and railroads to meet inspection deadlines on time

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, structural analysis software, MathCad, and CAD software
• Willingness to travel on an occasional basis to support the national inspection program
• Excellent communication skills and working in a team environment
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• PennDOT Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI)
• National Certified Tunnel Inspector (NCTI) 
• Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) Certification
• PennDOT inspection, load rating, and design experience
• Ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, confined-space entry, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a range of weather conditions
• Preference is given to local candidates
