­­­­­­Position Summary:

Under the direction/supervision of RN, provides basic and intermediate nursing care for assigned group of patients based on competence.

General Nursing Units care for patients from age 15 years to maturity by clinically competent nursing staff.

Special Care Areas care for patients 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions by clinically competent nursing staff.

Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery care includes patients who have a pregnancy related condition by staff

who are clinically /competent in maternity care

Nursery care includes care for newborn until discharge status by clinically competent staff.

Pediatric clinically competent staff provides care to patients from neonate through age of eighteen

GI Lab Unit cares for toddlers, beginning age 24 months, through adult by clinically competent staff.

Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit cares for adult patients and family with holistic approach to emotional

problems by clinically competent nursing staff.

Emergency Unit provides care to presenting patients of all ages by clinically competent staff in pediatric

high-risk adult care

Surgical Services provides care to patients from neonate to geriatric

Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

Education Required: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and participating in the last semester of clinicals in an RN program.

Certifications Required: CPR

  • BLS certification–Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position

Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law

Education:

Required: High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

Required: 3 years of experience in a medical setting. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory data.

Preferred: 5 years of experience as a nursing assistant or clerical staff in a medical environment.

Certifications:

Required: AHA BLS.

Physical Demands:

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.
