Groupon, Inc. is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in Chicago, IL.

How you'll spend your day:

• You will Design and build scalable computing systems for collecting, integrating, and processing large sets of structured and unstructured data from disparate sources and feed the results of the computations to other downstream systems within established service level agreement timeframes; 
• Work closely with peers from the product, engineering, and data science teams to form good hypotheses on how to improve the business; 
• Design, execute and measure experiments to test these hypotheses; 
• Productionalize solutions that show lift; 
• Analyze data in search of ideas that improve relevance for the user’s browsing experience; 
• Build data pipelines that feed into offline and online systems to support the browser experience; 
• Work with product and revenue management teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experimentation; 
• Use machine learning techniques to build models that can address areas such as user segmentation, chum, affinity, and conversion rates; 
• Support systems, algorithms, and automated processes for data processing at scale and in batch and streaming architectures on prem and in the cloud. 
• May telecommute up to 100% from any location in the U.S.

We’re excited about you if you have the following requirements: 

• Master’s degree in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Quantitative or related field plus 2 years related experience
• Any level of experience with research, design, and build end-to-end machine learning solutions for various business problems using industry standard technologies
• Any level of experience with productionalizing and deploying scalable data science applications to cloud environments
• Any level of experience with automating and orchestrating workflows
• Any level of experience with analyzing complex data systems and translating business logic into code
• Any level of experience with creating data pipeline and manipulating and analyzing data with industry standard database management tools
• Any level of experience with providing operational support and maintenance for software as a service products
• Any level of experience with investigating and responding to technical problems and requests from customers and internal stakeholders
• Any level of experience with coordinating with product managers, software engineers, and customer-facing teams
