The major functions of this position are:

Provide outstanding customer service and brand awareness to Maui Jim customers and clients. Ensure that Maui Jim Events maintains a strong reputation and exceeds sales forecasts through the growth of present and potential customers. Extensive travel to dispense, sell, repair, and market Maui Jim sunglasses at corporate events, incentive meetings, golf tournaments, music festivals, and boat shows.

This internship will run July-December 2024.

The principal responsibilities and duties of this position are:

  • Travel worldwide 80-100% of the time to host sunglass gifting experiences and activate large scale consumer-facing events. 
  • Work with clients on-site to review logistics and event procedures.
  • Set-up, tear-down, conduct inventory counts, and account for all promotional items at events.
  • Project a professional image to all customers while presenting company services and policies.
  • Convey the superiority of Maui Jim Polarized Plus 2 lens technology and industry leading customer service.
  • Adhere to daily allowance (per diem) and submit monthly expense reports.
  • Oversee the distribution of Rx Conversion Cards and warranty policy at events.
  • Work with Events Manager and Marketing Coordinator on miscellaneous projects as needed when in the office.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as requested or required.

Desired Qualifications

As a guide, indicated below is the preferred education and experience for this position:

  • College Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Business, Communications, Hospitality, or related field. 
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Active passport required.

Skills preferred for this position:

  • Customer service experience.
  • Aloha spirit and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to travel.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Event planning and execution skills.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
  • Microsoft Word, Graphic Design, and Excel skills.

Special Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Extensive travel including on weekends and holidays.
