We are now looking for an energetic professional to be a key player in securing our products by driving the implementation of secure software development lifecycle in our Divisions.

The position is part of our Engineering Services and Product Safety team within Digital Mining Technologies Division. Team develops and maintains shared processes, tools, systems, and procedures and supports all Sandvik business area divisions in the fields of sustainability, product safety, product liability, cyber security and incident management. The location for this position is flexible within Sandvik sites in Finland (Tampere, Turku) and we have possibility for hybrid work.

Your role & responsibilities

As Software Development Security Expert you will act as an internal consultant for Divisions in their journey strengthening the security throughout the offering lifecycle. You work globally together with the development teams in the divisions and with other experts within the Engineering Services and Product Safety team to make secure development process (SDL) part of the daily work. Your main responsibilities are:

  • Advise and support Divisions in implementing security into all stages of the software development lifecycle,
  • Support software development teams in threat modelling and other SDL activities,
  • Maintain SDL process documentation
  • Plan and organize SDL related training.

The normal day can consist of group work with the division colleagues on software security related topics e.g. facilitating threat modeling workshops, reviewing R&D project’s cybersecurity plans, architecture documentation etc. It also includes work related to our research projects, where new technologies are evaluated before entering to product development.

Your skills & qualifications

You have a relevant degree in engineering or another degree in combination with the right experience, competence and pro-active mindset. You understand key concepts of cybersecurity. You preferably have already proven track-record on software development and cybersecurity implementation. You have practical experience working with one or more SDL best practices (such as IEC 62443-4-1, Microsoft SDL and OWASP SAMM). Relevant certifications (e.g. CSSLP, GIAC GSSP, CISSP) is a valuable asset. We expect strong collaboration and communication skills and genuine interest to cybersecurity. Since we act in an international setting, you need good English skills, verbally and in writing. Willingness to travel occasionally is needed in this position.
