Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Manta’s SQL-based data lineage scanner offering
  • Manage the product backlog, working closely with the engineering team to define sprint objectives as well as with tech sales and support teams to understand the business context and priority of feature requests and bug fixes
  • Write product requirements for new features and new scanners
  • Enable tech sales and support teams by building specialized demos, assisting with RFIs, fielding scanner-specific questions
  • Engage prospects, customers, and internal stakeholders for discovery sessions and roadmap reviews
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify market trends
  • Maintain scanner documentation and contribute to the release notes
  • Produce internal enablement materials for new scanners and new features
  • Provide regular updates to the leadership team on product development progress and market signals

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum of 2 years of technical product management experience
  • Strong command of English
  • Strong written and communication skills with:
  • the ability to make technical concepts accessible to less technical audiences
  • the ability to identify and express the business value of technical features and fixes
  • Strong adjudication skills for product prioritization
  • Experience presenting to non-technical and technical audiences
  • Strong understanding of data management concepts and demonstrated hands-on experience with SQL
  • Strong understanding of the metadata and analytics marketplace
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the lifecycle of products from discovery to launch.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams.

  • Experience with data governance and data catalogs
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies
  • Oracle
  • MSSQL
  • MySQL/MariaDB/SingleStore
  • Teradata
  • Snowflake
  • DB2
  • Netezza
  • AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift)
  • PostgreSQL
  • SAS
  • COBOL
  • Software development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
