Summary

As a Client Technology Management Engineer, you will drive cloud platform innovation and design creative solutions for our clients’ unique business objectives according to their needs in AWS and/or Azure. A desirable candidate brings multidisciplinary technical experience and consultancy skills with calculated independence. Despite our value of independence, this is balanced by drawing on the CTM team’s diverse reach to offer compelling technology guidance. These characteristics along with persistent ownership and pursuit of first-hand visibility enable agile technical solutions that give the CTM team its edge. 

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following)

  • Codify AWS and Azure cloud products through documentation sets, policies and procedures to improve cross training, offer consistent results and extend insight to our clients
  • Work directly with client approvers to identity a wide range of technical pain points and either resolve through existing technology, or research and identify alternate options to meet their business needs
  • Work with vendors and coordinate on escalated issues internally in a timely fashion
  • Ownership and follow up of pending issues to resolution 
  • Advocate for the value of business initiatives amongst the team
  • Design and deploy dynamically scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant, and reliable applications on public cloud platforms
  • Select appropriate services to design and deploy an application based on given requirements
  • Migrate and manage complex, multi-tier applications
  • Design and deploy enterprise-wide scalable operations
  • Implement cost-control strategies
  • Evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning applications on the public cloud
  • Ability to provide best practice guidance on the architectural design across multiple applications and projects
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand source code
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments
  • Map business objectives to application/architecture requirements and cloud offerings
  • Advise stakeholders and translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions
  • Analyze existing systems and infrastructure lifecycle to determine industry-forward best practices for upgrades or replacements best suited for business needs
  • Act as subject matter expert for public cloud end-to-end security architecture, including networking, storage, databases, provisioning, IAM, and management
  • Document secure patterns and solution designs for consuming cloud services
  • Execute and successfully complete projects and evaluate new technologies/platforms to determine their applicability to solving the company’s business challenges and needs 

Skills 

  • Must be able to articulate complex technologies to a broad audience
  • Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines 
  • Highly logical thinker and skilled in identifying root cause
  • Must have availability to occasionally work nights and some weekends 
  • Technical skills Windows Server Technologies, including Active Directory
  • Technical skills in Exchange, both on premises and online

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT solutions 
  • Certification in one or more public cloud platforms 
  • Deep knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information both verbally and in writing to teams with varying levels of technical expertise and security knowledge, as well as executive management 
  • Knowledgeable of industry standard security frameworks and controls required of Public Cloud services to host sensitive data 
  • Must have experience with Public Cloud (AWS, Azure) networking, compute, and security 
  • Demonstrate efficient and effective use of problem-solving, troubleshooting, project management, and task prioritization to solve complex IT challenges 
  • Proficient in automation of complex tasks 
  • Understanding of concepts such as Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Infrastructure as Code and how they relate to public cloud 
  • Experience in the financial sector a plus
