Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Counseling Services, the counselor provides mental health services to the student population including psychological assessment, crisis intervention, short term individual, group psychotherapy and referrals to community providers. In addition, the counselor participates in on-going collaboration with other members of the Health and Wellness staff in providing psycho-educational programming and outreach services to the student population. The counselor may also provide consultation to faculty, staff and student leaders as directed by the Director of Counseling Services. This position may require some evening and weekend availability.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, ETC.:
Some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required. Counselors may be expected to serve on-call in various capacities, generally within the business work day hours (9-5). As an exempt, salaried employee, availability is required for occasional evening and weekend hours for pre-planned events (e.g., Orientation/Check-in Days, Parent/Family Weekend, Open House Accepted Students, Opening Day, etc.) and unplanned needs (e.g. community outreach, staff availability during campus/student emergencies, etc.).
While not prohibited, applicants should carefully consider these expectations before beginning or maintaining a private practice, or accepting/maintaining other part-time employment before accepting an offer of employment at Berklee.
