Chenega Enterprise Systems & Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Biostatistician III to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC), Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), Office of the Director (OD). This person will utilize research methodology and data collection tools to design and maintain databases for management. The Biostatistician III will provide Statistical Support for The Office of the Director.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize research methodology and data collection tools to ensure that appropriate data is gathered.
  • Design and maintain databases for data cleaning and management, including R, Python, SAS, SUDAAN, SQL, Access, and Excel.
  • Conduct data analyses including descriptive statistics, factor analyses, and various regression models.
  • Extract public health and healthcare system data from relevant sources including the National Healthcare Safety Network for analysis.
  • Prepare preliminary interpretations of analyses for sharing with scientific and public audiences, project teams, and/or department management.
  • Prepare reports and data visualizations in accordance with the analytical results, including providing support for the development of manuscripts.
  • Perform statistical analysis of data from complex surveillance systems using large data sets, including techniques for merging datasets from diverse sources and established statistical methodologies in the health sciences.

Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree
  • Six (6) years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Professional working knowledge within SharePoint
  • Professional interpersonal and computer skills, to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook as well as SharePoint.
  • Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports

Final salary determination based on skill-set, qualifications, and approved funding.
