Salary range: The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 37-B. The salary range for this position is $71,500 – $91,000.

Applications are sought for a full-time Assistant Project Scientist position. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary research team in the laboratory of Dr. Stanley Nelson Lab in the UCLA Department of Human Genetics. The focus of the Nelson Lab is on understanding the genetic and molecular underpinnings of Duchenne Muscular dystrophy. The Nelson lab leverages whole genome and exon sequencing, bulk RNAseq, and single cell/nuclei RNAseq experiment to investigate a wide array of biological questions related to Duchenne disease pathology. In addition to studying disease pathology, the Nelson lab to also leveraging these technologies to investigate physiological responses to gene therapies for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy
To address these questions, the Nelson lab is implementing a large scale combination of single cell/nuclei RNAseq, TCR/BCR clonotyping, CosMX experiments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with single cell datasets and work collaboratively with geneticists, immunologists, and physicians to design, implement and analyze such experiments.
