- Provide administrative oversight and assessment for the MD/PhD Program.
- Responsible for oversight of the MD/PhD students.
- Provide mentorship for all MD/PhD students.
- Develop and participate in MD/PhD Program meetings, as needed.
- Publicize and promote the program by participating in public presentations and conducting outreach to potential students.
- Work effectively with the MD/PhD executive committee and the College of Medicine-Tucson Office of Admissions to review applications, interview applicants, and prepare recommendations for acceptance.
- Lead efforts to update informal material and websites.
- Work closely with College of Medicine-Tucson Leadership to ensure smooth transition to the PhD program and back to the MD program.
- Apply for Federal funding to support the MD/PhD Program within one year of start date.
