Summary:

The Digistar Content Developer Intern creates scripts and Control Panels in Digistar 7 using previously gained experience in the Astrophysics Intern program to apply to astronomical events and astrophysics news releases for use in digital and planetarium products worldwide. In addition, the Intern will provide a coordination role between E&S and customers who use Digistar for teaching to assist in developing K-8 curriculum content in Digistar. This person will work with Digistar 7 and apply knowledge of astronomy and astrophysics in developing usable scripts and Control Panel pages inside Digistar that will be used in Planetariums, virtual reality, augmented reality, mobile and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Create Digistar scripts and Control Panels illustrating astronomical events in the coming months for use in the world’s leading planetarium software (from user research to the final production)
• Contribute to the priority list of events and astrophysics news, utilizing research for features of interest to the Digistar Community.
• Collaborate with Digistar users to assist in coordinating work for use in Control Panel Pages for use in teaching K-8 curriculum
• Collaborate closely with team members in a productive and positive way.
• Present designs, prototypes and concepts to the team.
• Provide finished scripts and all materials associated with research and development during the internship.

Qualifications:

• Senior or recent graduate at the start of the program.
• Proven experience using Digistar from previous internships
• Available to work in the Salt Lake City E&S/Cosm Office.
• Available to work 20 hours per week during the defined Intern period.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of or experience of astronomy, motions of the sky, astronomical events
• Interest in immersive technology and content.
