Director Merchandising, DKNY Handbags

The Director Merchanting DKNY Handbags is responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies that drive sales, profitability, and brand equity ensuring the development, execution, and communication of strategies that exceed financial goals.

Drive merchandising strategies that involve a comprehensive approach that considers data and analytics market trends, customer preferences, brand positioning, and business objectives.

Must be able to navigate and lead successfully to create and develop productive partnerships with cross-functional partners such as Design, Product Development, Supply and global partners.

Location: (On-Site - 5 Days): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of the seasonal line plans that supports brand financial targets and delivers a cohesive product assortment that's on brand’s DNA and heritage
  • Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies aligned with the overall business objectives
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and optimization
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify opportunities
  • Manage product lifecycle from concept to final, including assortment planning, pricing strategy, and inventory management.
  • Drive seasonal and promotional planning initiatives to maximize sell-through and minimize excess inventory

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, or related field
  • Ten+ years of experience in merchandising or buying with focus on wholesale and handbags or accessories
  • Proven track record of driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising strategies and assortment planning
  • Exceptional knowledge of retail math, financial and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop long-term vision and translate it into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Passion for trends and consumer behavior, with a deep understanding of the handbags market

The pay range for this position is: $135,000 - $185,000 per /year.
