Brown & Brown has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Lines Unit Leader for our Technical Assistant team in Longmeadow, MA; this role is hybrid.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Respond to customer questions and requests
  • Establish uniform procedures for the Commercial Lines Technical Assistant Unit.
  • Responsible for the productivity, quality, and staffing of the unit.
  • Perform performance reviews of the Technical Assistant staff, drawing on the input of the producers and other department managers.
  • Attend carrier and industry meetings and seminars to foster relationships.
  • Maximize the use of the Agency technology through regular training and assist in the ongoing research/solicitation of advanced software products.
  • Work with Commercial Lines Team Leader to achieve the department's annual financial and performance goals.
  • Strengthen and maximize electronic communications between carriers, clients, and the Agency.
  • Eliminate poor and inefficient practices.
  • Assist in the identification of education and training that the staff needs.
  • Identify potential errors and omissions exposures and implement procedures that will minimize or eliminate the same.
  • Perform standard account management responsibilities on assigned accounts, including but not limited to customer service, updating and maintaining data in agency management systems, processing renewals, managing expiration reports, etc.
  • Establish Agency service standards.
  • Manage, direct, and coordinate activities of Technical Assistant Unit personnel.
  • Monitor expectations.
  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Minimum of three years in insurance - preferably experience at an insurance agency.
  • High School diploma.
  • MA Property & Casualty Producer License
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • This position requires routine or periodic travel, which may require the teammate to drive their own or a rental vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, as well as maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages, are a requirement for this position.
