IT Business Analyst

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for supporting our internal collections applications and other systems, requiring frequent interaction with internal and external clients and vendors. 

Schedule: Regular business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, on-call and after hours responsibilities may be required on a rotating basis. 

Location: can work remotely, Chicago candidates preferred 

Salary: $85,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually, dependent on experience

DAY TO DAY

Application Support 

  • Troubleshoot reported application issues and help facilitate resolution to aid the company in preventing issues going forward.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and onsite trainer to ensure consistent and accurate usage of CUBS database system resulting in a more productive workforce.
  • Demonstrate the importance of completing tasks in a timely manner to act as an example for other team members.
  • Ability to perform daily, weekly and monthly routine client processes and procedures providing excellent customer service and ensuring client issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage documentation creation and updating of policies and procedures to ensure that all team members understand the correct process for completing their tasks.

Data Analysis

  • Perform data analysis, design and testing on custom programming applications – will require the ability to interact with developers and end users to ensure design and testing are accurate and meet stated requirements.
  • Ensure high priority work is completed within required time lines and communicate priorities to team members
  • Ability to create ad hoc reporting on demand and develop specifications for recurring reports or programming to help increase department productivity.
  • Listen closely to the needs of other departments to ensure that reporting is accurate and pertinent.
  • Ability to create and present data results to various internal departments and help these departments to interpret the data. 

Technical Support 

  • Respond to help requests directly through telephone or Help Desk system and partake in the Help-Desk support rotation schedule.
  • Walk in others’ shoes by offering suggestions and troubleshooting instructions appropriate to the employee’s level of technical knowledge to ensure that the employee understands and has the clarity they need to complete their job functions.
  • Gather requirements on issues reported for resolution on their own or forward information to responsible functional group in order to help the IT department productivity.
  • Handle the relationship in a professional manner between Client Service and IT Departments to encourage a synergistic relationship.
  • Demonstrate professionalism at all times by being respectful, helpful and customer focused.
  • Work collaboratively with other IT individuals as needed for programming initiatives, changes to routines, file processing, strategies, letters and other functions as related to client operations.
  • Work with other IT individuals on implementation of new clients when needed.

WHAT YOU MUST POSSESS

Must Have:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a technical or application support environment with experience troubleshooting custom software applications/databases
  • Application development/programming experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment
  • Must be well-spoken, as well as be able to understand client needs and suggest appropriate solutions
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and time management skills

Nice To Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and time management skills
  • Experience with the CUBS (Columbia Ultimate Business Solutions) System is strongly preferred
  • Experience with UNIX system a plus
  • Experience with SQL is a plus 
  • Excellent project management skills a plus ·
