OVERVIEW

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is an industry-leading battery metal and critical materials, technology development, and commercialization company. Our Pilot Plant in Fernley, Nevada will be the first integrated implementation of our multi-step processing train for the full mechanical processing, physical separations, chemical extractions, and production of commercial-scale battery metals that will be resold back into the battery manufacturing supply chain to enact a low-cost, low environmental impact, and domestically sourced closed-loop circular economy.

ABOUT THE JOB

Under moderate supervision, a Manufacturing Process Technician will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to; assessing, implementing, and documenting new process procedures that are both sustainable and scalable, liaising between cross-functional teams to gather critical data needed to drive actions for process development, manage and own process documentation for all manufacturing processes, and sorting procedures, maintain ownership of teardown, and sorting areas including 5S standards and enforcement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to autonomously solve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to learn and operate control board independently and serve as primary backup to board operator when required
  • Ability to identify new process methods with consideration to equipment needed and mitigation of safety risks while doing so.
  • Applying knowledge of math and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment.
  • Safety consciousness and capable of learning applicable EHS standards and proper chemical handling techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Working independently and safely with minimal supervision.
  • Implication of process documentation, publishing, and training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the assembly of electromechanical testing systems.
  • Ability to assemble, fabricate, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment.
  • Skilled in meticulous data collection and observation recording.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical (STEM) field.
  • Experience with battery manufacturing/recycling.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to walk throughout the plant.
  • Ability to bend at the waist.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to wear PPE which includes but not limited to the following: eye and face protection, hearing protections, respirators, and protective shoes and shoe coverings.
  • Must have 20/20 or corrected vision.
  • Ability to perform repetitive duties.
  • Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals for extended periods of time.
