Machine Operator

ABOUT THE JOB

ABTC’s Machine operator will work cross-functionally with engineering, EHS, Operations, Production, and R&D to rapidly scale up production at our Pilot Plant. The ideal candidate has experience working in an industrial manufacturing setting with extensive hands-on manufacturing experience. This will monitor and maintain process equipment to support production. This extraordinary opportunity to join an innovative team with the ability to grow your career and expand your skillset. This position will report to our Shift Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and operate a variety of machines throughout the shift.
  • Assist with the movement of raw, WIP, and finished materials.
  • Use the ERP system to execute assigned jobs and record/report production data and outcomes.
  • Report mechanical and physical parts failures to the manager and maintenance department through work orders.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure activities are performed to quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions.
  • Accurately report daily machine production.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing orders to ensure the finished products, meet specifications.
  • Perform changeovers with Maintenance and Engineering teams.
  • Work overtime as necessary to cover other shift operators and meet overall production demands.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum required qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years machine operator experience
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally in English.
  • Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be forklift certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of control systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on manufacturing equipment. manufacturing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of chemical plant operations and related equipment.
  • 2 yr. degree AA or AS, preferred Applied technology.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand for prolonged periods of up to 6 hours a day. Ability to walk throughout the plant.

Ability to bend at the waist.

Ability to lift unassisted50lbs and assisted over50lbs. Climbing stairs and ladders (1) limited

Ability to wear PPE, which includes but is not limited to the following: eye and face protection, Hearing Protection, Respirators, and protective shoes and coverings.

Must have 20/20 or corrected vision. Ability to perform repetitive duties.

Ability to work in an environment that may include exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals for extended periods of time.
