Job Summary:

Sava is in search of experienced professionals to join our team in Washington, D.C., as a Field Investigator, working in support of a Law Enforcement Agency. The selected individuals will work closely with key stakeholders and handle high-volume, confidential, and time-sensitive materials, providing excellent customer service and acting as a liaison to insurance companies claim services, claimants, policyholders, agents, counterparts in other departments, external legal professionals, external medical professionals, financial institutions, government/regulatory agencies, potential customers, vendors and suppliers as necessary to perform assigned tasks under the contract, among other duties.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Investigators shall gather background data, interview of the subject, interpret, analyze, and evaluate results from polygraph, psychological and medical examinations.
  • Determining the information or evidence required to reach a judgement, as well as the best approach to obtain that information for each assigned case.
  • Interviewing applicants, officials, and/or individuals, such as spouses, employers, relatives, friends, acquaintances, and law enforcement agency officials.
  • Ultimately, preparing a report of findings for investigative cases and suitability that include formal analysis and information for resolving investigative cases.
  • Provide customer service and serve as liaisons with insurance companies claim services, claimants, policyholders, agents, counterparts in other departments, external legal professionals, external medical professionals, financial institutions, government/regulatory agencies, potential customers, vendors and suppliers as necessary to perform assigned tasks under the contract.
  • The field investigator will be responsible for providing their own transportation when conducting field investigations in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, Delaware, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania (Investigators will be reimbursed for travel costs based on GSA per diem guideline for mileage, parking and tolls).
  • Plans and conducts investigations. Performs quantitative, qualitative, or other analysis of relevant facts. Develops and analyzes evidence from other investigators and law enforcement agencies.
  • Collects information relating to legal matters. Gathers and analyzes statements, timelines, scientific, or technical data.
  • Prepares reports on progress and presents to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Responsible for knowing applicable federal, state, and local law to the extent necessary to make sound decisions on direction and scope of investigations. Decides on methods for planning, scheduling, and conducting investigations and identifies resources that may be required.
  • May use laboratories and other forensic services to gather data. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of adjudicative and investigative support with and no less than two (2) years of experience as a Background Investigator, performing full-scope pre-employment investigations, Personnel Security Specialist or Adjudicator with a federal agency, police department, recognized private contractor or military related training specializing in background investigations.
  • Must have investigative experience performing Identity Verification, Criminal Background, Checks, Credit Background Checks, Motor Vehicle Reports, Professional License & Education Background Checks, Fingerprint Background Checks, E-Verify Background Checks.
  • Must be able to successfully obtain a favorably adjudicated full-scope background investigation, to include a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check, prior to start. The client may request confirmation of these credentials at any time. (US Citizenship required).
  • Must have successfully completed training from approved or recognized training program (e.g. Federal Background Investigator Training Program (FBITP), local law enforcement training or Reid School).
  • Must be knowledgeable about all applicable fraud statutes, local, state and federal, to ensure duties and assignments are carried out within the requirements of applicable law and client expectations.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Always maintain the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality when handling information related to the contract.
  • Former experience working in or as a Law Enforcement Officer for a local, state or federal agency.
  • Former Investigative experience, ranging from Personnel, Civil Rights, Counterterrorism, Foreign Counterintelligence, Organized Crime/Drugs, Criminal, Applicant Matters,Violent Crimes and Major Offenders, and Financial Crime.
