The Senior Risk Analyst will perform key risk management functions for Casey’s bulk fuel supply and fuel trading activities such as preparing the daily position, mark-to-market (MTM), profit and loss (P&L).

The Senior Risk Analyst analyzes fuel and hedging positions to assess risk, ensures completeness and accuracy of system data, and reviews trades/positions to maintain compliance with Casey’s Risk Policy.

  • Develop daily reporting and analysis of Casey’s bulk fuel supply and trading positions, MTM, and P&L. This includes examining revenues, unrealized gains, and margins.
  • Investigate and explain variances between budgeted or forecasted figures and actual results; and explain any risks/uncertainties that may impact the P&L statement.
  • Examine revenue streams to assess the effectiveness of bulk fuel activities and identify opportunities for revenue growth and profit margin improvement.
  • Prepare financial dashboards, reports, and summaries for management, stakeholders, and investors.
  • Ensure compliance for both internal and external regulations.
  • Provide financial closing and system subject matter expert as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics and Accounting or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Revision Dates: March 2024
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial and market analysis with growth in related area is required.
  • Oil and Gas or commodity industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain data and findings to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze and evaluate information to determine solutions for problem solving.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and maintain a clear sense of priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships based on transparency and mutual respect, both internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI.
