This position is for a Network Engineer to support training systems development. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team oriented, and capable of multi-tasking. Positions are located in East Orlando, FL at the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Training and Logistics (TLS), Lake Underhill facility. The Work

As a Network Engineer, you will:

  • Work with the Program Systems Engineering Lead and/or sub-discipline architects in establishing a highly customized network design and architecture
  • Ability to take an existing, or many existing networks from separate disparate sources and network them together.
  • Architect different networks across separate subsystems to isolate network traffic, only allowing traffic which is required.
  • Work with a team of system engineers and/or interdisciplinary subject matter experts to provide feedback into the MBSE tools to ensure the network architecture is documented.
  • Must be able to work with minimal assistance / guidance
  • Be a member of Integrated Product Team responsible for the scope and associated cost and schedule. Interface with cross functional teams and customer on regular basis to effectively execute the scope.
  • Have the ability to travel domestically (up to 30% travel)

  • This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain a Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin.
  • U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. This role may require the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance within a reasonable time after starting the position.
  • This position is contingent upon award and contract funding which is anticipated in Q2 2024.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
  • Due to the Government Security clearance requirement U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.
  • Familiarity with configuration and management of HPE, Dell and Juniper network devices (e.g – firewalls, switches)
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, IP configuration, peer-to-peer networking and IP addressing and subnetting
  • Tier 3 troubleshooting skills for both switch & router technologies
  • Understanding of system architectures and multi-site connections
  • Experience with interaction of servers, switches, and firewall interconnections
  • Experience with performance-based, low latency network interactions

Desired Skills:

  • DoD 8570 IAT level II or III certification (eg. Sec +, CASP, CISSP)
  • Experience / familiarity with Linux and/or UNIX shell scripting
  • Experience / familiarity with Ansible or other network automation tools
  • Infrastructure experience with racks, power, cooling, and storage
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipeline concepts.
