Job Responsibilities

The Application Engineer will report directly to the NA Motor Solutions Technology Manger and will be responsible for, though not limited to, the following:

  • Designs the most complex products utilizing available technologies, tools and materials to meet or exceed customer applications requirements with a thorough understanding of customer needs.
  • Interacts with sales team and sophisticated customers on highly complex applications to translate customer requirements to product designs.
  • Supports complex sales and marketing team quotes and technical inquiries, and frequently travels with business leaders to major customer meetings.
  • Conducts complex root cause analysis and identification. Approves corrective action authorization (8D analysis) and has customer communication leadership.
  • Supports and approves the most complex product changes and provides technical product analysis to the plant for specific projects or customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
  • 7+ years experience.
  • Design for Lean Six Sigma within 3 years.
  • Advanced organizational skills, results and performance oriented.
  • Advanced relationship and team building skills with high level of integrity and energy.
  • Advanced technical knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills amongst global and cross functional teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced technical degree or related field.
  • Design for Lean Six Sigma or Black Belt certified.
  • Commercial Motors product knowledge, strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • Experience with the application and testing of permanent magnet motors, and/or electronics.
