ABOUT THE ROLE:
Become a key member of our newly established Digital Finance team! We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI & Data Architect to lead the establishment of financial data within our data warehouse and leverage it for advanced Power BI reporting. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our global Finance & Accounting teams' analysis capabilities by designing and deploying dynamic visualizations and reports that empower our teams to conduct accurate and efficient financial close and analysis. Your contributions will optimize operations within Finance & Accounting and deliver enhanced strategic insights for decision making across our organization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Data Warehousing Responsibilities:
- Work closely with IT teams to design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform and integrate financial data from existing systems and applications into a data warehouse
- Develop and maintain documentation for data warehouse processes, data mappings, and data lineage.
- Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and issues.
Data Modeling Responsibilities:
- Write SQL to aggregate and process data across multiple data sources.
- Create and maintain data models and structures optimized for scalable financial reporting, analysis, and visualization.
- Document data models, ETL processes, and business intelligence solutions for knowledge transfer and maintainability.
- Optimize queries, processes, and data models for improved performance and efficiency.
Power BI Report Building, Maintenance & Governance Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to understand their data requirements and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Create interactive and user-friendly data visualizations that provide actionable business insights for leadership and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reports and metrics produced by the Power BI environment.
- Apply statistical analysis and data mining techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in data sets.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates to Power BI reports and dashboards to reflect changes in data or business requirements.
- Implement data quality and governance standards to ensure data accuracy and reliability for reporting and analytics.
- Provide training and support to end-users on business intelligence tools and data analytics platforms.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in data visualization and automation, and apply these techniques to continuously improve finance and accounting processes.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Advanced DAX, Power Query, Power BI modelling skills
- 5-7 years of experience in data management, data warehousing, data modeling, and developing & supporting the implementation of BI solutions, including dashboards.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality data visualizations and reports that drive business decisions.
- Proficiency in ETL processes, SQL querying, and data manipulation.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and reporting requirements.
- Experience working with stakeholders in Finance and Accounting to gather and analyze data requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to perform Data Warehouse tuning, collecting statistics, and analyzing SQL code performance.
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to present and communicate data, trends, insights and recommendations.
- Must be able to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends.
- Experience with publicly traded organizations.
- Motivation to take ownership of tasks and the determination to drive them to completion.
