Main Purpose of Job

Provides clinical case management, direct individual, group and family therapy, and clinical advice and support to a caseload of approximately seven adolescents in a residential treatment center for emotionally disabled adolescents. This position requires someone who demonstrates specific expertise in understanding the symptoms and treatments for clients with diagnoses which are typically seen in emotionally disturbed adolescents. This position requires someone who can work effectively with a treatment team made up of nursing/residential, educational and rehabilitation staff, social workers, psychologist and psychiatrists to provide treatment that is family driven & youth guided. The incumbent of this position must also be able to generate the extensive documentation such as treatment plans, progress notes and reports required in a contemporary mental health context.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�� Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers. \r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: None. \r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates must be licensed as a Graduate Social Worker (on or by June 30, 2018), Master Social Worker(on or after July 1, 2018) or Certified Social Worker by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have a license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Maryland Department of Health�Testing Unit. \r\n\r\n\r\n2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n
