Adoption of Linux is increasing rapidly at Microsoft and as it grows, so does the threat landscape. In the Kevlar for Linux team, we work in close cooperation with other security teams on protecting Linux workloads by developing and continuously improving tools for detecting security events using eBPF, providing secure ways of accessing workloads and building the infrastructure that allows us to saturate our tools across the fleet.

As a Software Engineering Manager in Kevlar for Linux team you will contribute to better Linux security in Microsoft by leading a team of experienced Linux engineers in improving our Linux security events detection capabilities, inventing a new approach in deploying tools across Linux IaaS (VMs) and you will learn a lot about different special clouds Microsoft operates. You will learn about various compliance and security requirements and the practical challenges of implementing solutions for them and you will have an opportunity to influence the way Linux security goes in Microsoft.   • Lead and manage a diverse team of Linux engineers, fostering an inclusive and high-performing team culture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, development, to align on product requirements and deliverables.
  • Drive the design, development, and delivery of feature work through the whole software development lifecycle
  • Be a mentor, empowering software engineers to continuously learn, improve their skills, and grow their careers 
  • Actively contribute to the development of the team's technical strategy and roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in Linux security at Microsoft.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR equivalent experience
  • Engineering management experience
  • Software engineering experience (C / C# / Python / Rust)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient understanding of Linux operating systems
  • Linux systems programming and eBPF
  • Infrastructure management and deployment automation systems
  • Experience in security and/or compliance engineering
