The San Antonio Spurs digital team is constantly developing innovative digital products that improve and enhance the fan experience. This position assists in supporting front-end website development for all Spurs Sports & Entertainment franchises and content management within the Spurs mobile app. Franchises include but not limited to Spurs, Austin Spurs, San Antonio FC, Spurs Give and Spurs Sports Academy. Under the guidance of the Senior Web Developer and partnering with the other departments within our Brand Engagement department including our Marketing, Creative, and Content Teams – the candidate will assist in gathering business requirements and design technical solutions to meet those needs. The eligible candidate will collaborate with a diverse group of important internal stakeholders, team sponsors, league contacts, vendors, and a variety of external audiences; independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload. 

NOTE: This position is not responsible for social media administration. This position focuses on front end web and mobile app development and requires coding/programming skills necessary to build and troubleshoot assets both from scratch and from within multiple CMS environments.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Supports the design, development, and optimization of San Antonio Spurs team website (spurs.com and other franchises as needed) and mobile app, with a key focus on user experience, utility, and quality assurance
  • Supports web and app maintenance including content management, troubleshooting, and technical support
  • Assists in creating and maintaining analytics dashboards to track performance, assess KPI achievement, and share key insights
  • Assists with web and app feature enhancements, project objectives, technical scope, and execution timelines

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant working experience/certifications
  • 1 - 2 years of front-end web development experience designing responsive, web-based applications (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc.)
  • Experience with CMSs (WordPress or similar) and project management platforms (Workfront or similar).
  • Experience using design application like Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or Figma.
  • Assist in brainstorming innovative digital ideas and researching emerging technologies
  • Document internal processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Must be able to work occasional flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Other duties as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (not required):

  • Javascript framework experience a plus (Node.js, React.js, Next.js)
  • Experience with back-end development using of JSON, XML, APIs or similar
  • Previous experience in sports or event industries
