We are looking for Machine Learning Engineer to:

• collaborate with data scientists and business leaders to understand challenges facing the firm and its clients.
• partner with Data Scientists and lay the foundational platform upon which models can be built and trained, study and transform data science prototypes
• design, architect, develop, and operationalize ML/NLP/LLM applications at scale
• run machine learning tests and experiments, train and retrain systems as needed
• design, architect, and develop data processing framework to scale and deploy statistical and Machine Learning models that power analytics insight
• build tools to monitor, logging, and tracking the health of the ML applications
• delivering system automation by setting up continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines
• stay current on the new technology, and continue to optimize our data and ML ecosystem

You will be part of the AI Center of Excellence in GOTO Group Functions. Our Data Strategy, Platform, and AI/ML Competency are at the heart of UBS's Group Function to digitize and support the business processes in these functions. Our team is globally based in Switzerland, UK, EMEA, APAC and the US.

Your expertise

• BS or MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related STEM fields
• ideally 5+ years of relevant or equivalent experience, experience in finance industry is a plus
• familiar with applied data science methods, feature engineering, machine learning algorithms, NLP, and LLM
• proven experience in building and supporting production ML applications
• experience in creating monitoring, logging and tracking capabilities
• hands on experience of database and analytical technologies in the industry
• experience with full stack software development and familiar with frontend and backend development (such as AngularJS, VueJS, ReactJS, Flask, NodeJS) interacting with SQL/Non-SQL databases
• proven experience in Agile methodologies and strong technical design and analysis skills

Desirable experience and skills:

• hands on experience with Spark, Databrick, and relevant Azure components
• hands-on experience in designing, building, and deploying production-level data pipelines using tools from Hadoop stack (HDFS, Hive, Spark etc.)
• experience with NLP, LLM techniques, deep learning and transformers to build ML and NLP applications
• experience with data visualization tools

Salary information

CA, CO, WA and NY based roles: The salary range for this role is $135,000 to $165,000 based on experience, education, and skill level. This role may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. For benefits information: ubs.com/usbenefits.
