Position Summary

Under the direction of the Transplant Institute (TI) Quality Manager, the Transplant Quality Coordinator is responsible for participating in the development and implementation of a comprehensive quality outcomes management program for the Transplant Institute

Essential Functions

  • Collect and review clinical and operational data, develop summary reports, charts, graphs, and trending outcomes, analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement, and facilitate quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with quality manager and transplant team
  • Participate in the development, maintenance, and compliance of Transplant Institute policies and procedures to ensure adherence with all regulatory agency requirements including but not limited to ODH, OPTN/UNOS, DNV, ACHA.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of transplant regulations and associated knowledge of clinical as well as outcomes research to promote regulatory compliance
  • Works together as an integrated team and maintains positive relationships with Transplant Institute team members as well as hospital system teams and resources.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
  • Displays commitment to the mission and values of the University Hospitals Health System.

Qualifications

Education

  • (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing required. (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Work Experience

  • 3+ years previous experience in the field of solid organ transplantation, procurement or QAPI Methodologies required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to interpret and operationalize federal regulations required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, etc. required.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
  • Experience with Epic Medical Record System preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • Transplant or Quality Certification preferred. Obtainment of certification required within 3 years.
