SPECIALIST, STUDENT AND PERSONNEL DATA MANAGEMENT

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to communicateeffectively
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Working knowledge of Windows 7, Windows applications, Internet, and E-mail
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Two years of business college preferred
  • Experience with Student Administration Manager (SAM) software preferred
  • Experience with Mississippi Student Information System (MSIS) preferred

Director of Data Management

JOB GOAL

To contribute to the efficient operation of the district’s site-based administrative system

To verify the accuracy of district data in accordance with Accreditation Policy 2.1

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist school level data personnel by supporting the student information system
  • Assist school level data personnel with coordinating activities to comply with MSIS (Mississippi Student Information System) deadlines
  • Maintain teacher, classified employee, and course pools
  • Support assigned schools and assist the school administration and guidance department(s) in generating calendars, break schedules, lunch schedules, summer school sessions and schedules, and saving report cards
  • Verify the accuracy of information imported from the student registration system
  • Assist school level data personnel with obtaining ownership of students in MSIS
  • Assist with processing no shows and completing the summer transfer screen
  • Generate and assist school level data personnel with correcting Invalid Data, MAS, MSD, and MDT reports
  • Maintain SAM helpdesk records and provide daily reports to the Director
  • Maintains a filing system that is pertinent to the department/office
  • Assign students to the appropriate school for the following school year
  • Audits school personnel data weekly to make sure that schools are in compliance
  • Assist with clearing any district accreditation violations
  • Completes work within a time frame appropriate for the efficient operation of the department/office
  • Assist with school, district, and state reports as requested and required
  • Performs other related duties as requested or assigned

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
