The Systems Engineer will maintain and support Altium’s operating and information systems, troubleshoot and solve system problems, and ensure on regular system upgrades are completed according to schedule.

Maintain, update, audit, and optimize current on-prem and cloud systems which include: Azure AD, Intune, Office 365, Windows Servers, Active Directory, Exchange (On-Prem and Cloud), VMWare, Cisco UCS, and SQL Server. Design, implement, and maintain business solutions. Work with systems applications that power business functions. Audit systems performance and design improvements.

Lead and assist in infrastructure projects. These projects vary in scope but serve to support the infrastructure of the company with new technologies and resources. Provide training and knowledge transfer in a team context in order to accomplish objectives.

• Administer on-prem systems on a daily basis – this includes physical and virtual hardware, Cisco UCS, and Microsoft Windows servers
• Administer cloud services on a daily basis – this includes Azure AD, Office 365, Intune, and other SaaS solutions
• Assist with integrating systems and applications from acquired companies
• Evaluate emerging technologies against business needs
• Manage and schedule updates through SCCM and WSUS and backups using Veeam
• Carry out system performance audits – review and analyze computer logs and performance indicators to locate problems, and correct errors. 
• Maintain updated documentation of infrastructure and systems interconnectivity
• Assist with higher tier support requests and mentor system administrators
• All other duties as assigned

Required:

• 3-5 years of experience in a systems engineering role
• Working knowledge of practices for IT service management, Windows servers, and data management systems
• Knowledge of various software and hardware platforms: Microsoft systems (Windows 10 & Server 2016+, Office 365 and Azure, AD and group policies, Exchange, SCCM, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM), VMware and Hyper-V virtualized environments, SANs, backup & disaster recovery

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Experience administering Azure cloud services and products
• Knowledge of SQL Server administration and Linux a plus
