This position has the opportunity to join a team setting that is engaging donors, alumni and the community around aspirational fundraising goals for the College of Health. The college has the largest student body in U of U Health and is among the largest colleges/schools at the university. The college is implementing a strategic effort to engage nearly 18,000 alumni. In addition, this position works with individuals, foundations, and corporations to raise funds for endowments and annual support. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four years of experience in high-end repeat sales or direct fund-raising required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills also required. Fund-raising or repeat sales experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully establish long term relationships with high-end customers is preferred.

Preferences
Three years of fund-raising experience which includes direct solicitation of contributions, volunteer leadership support, written and verbal presentations, and strategy and market development
Experience in grant or proposal writing and a background working with local print and electronic media is preferred.
Demonstrated negotiating skills
Experience working with nonprofit volunteer boards/committees is preferred.
Experience in alumni engagement and fundraising, including soliciting donations through phone and email
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Proven track record in successful grant writing and corporate solicitation
Prior experience creating a development plan
Experience with fundraising databases such as Unite or Salesforce
