Job Posting Description

This Patient Services Administrator II, Cardiac ICU will:

  • Manage day to day administrative operations of busy Cardiac ICU with major focus on improving the business aspects and patient experience of health care operations and the quality of health care provided.
  • Supervise administrative functions of the unit, including preparing and monitoring of unit's operating and capital budgets, maintaining supply and equipment inventory and developing and implementing unit administrative procedures and systems.
  • Lead large administrative team (24 staff members) with attention on providing high quality service to patients and families.
  • Develop and motivate staff while managing performance and providing mentorship as well as positive recognition.
  • Monitor patient service feedback with focus on the patient experience and help resolve service issues. Proactively identifies and implements areas to improve.
  • Prepare reports and analyze metrics for internal and external review – financial, departmental, clinical, quality, capacity & utilization.
  • Provide administrative support for Director Patient Services, including special projects, data and financial management, calendar management, preparation of reports, and general leadership support.
  • Participate as an active member on unit based and program leadership teams.
  • Act as a liaison for internal and external staff, departments, professional organizations, and agencies.

To qualify, you must have:

  • BA degree in business administration, health care administration or closely related field and a minimum of five years of related experience. MA degree preferred. 
  • Excellent staff management skills and the ability to lead a large, diverse team. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a stressful, fast-paced clinical environment. 
  • The ability to manage workflows effectively and efficiently, maintaining cost effective procedures and policies with an eye to cost containment and optimization of resources.
  • Strong analytical skills and judgment to interpret data and take the appropriate action in circumstances or situations.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
