Responsible for the retention, upselling and cross selling of an assigned book of Commercial Lines business for accounts ranging in $2,500 to $125,000 in premium. Must work independently and proactively with managing all aspects of account management and servicing, handling client questions, requests, and coverage review

Duties of a Commercial Lines Account Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for marketing submissions to carriers, including application preparation, loss analysis, pre-underwriting of the risk for professional, quality new and renewal submissions. 
  • Work in conjunction with Commercial Lines Placement Specialist to submit to eligible and appropriate carriers and follow-up to ensure timely receipt of quotes.
  • Analyze and compare carrier quotes for proper coverage, terms and conditions in order to present the best coverage solutions that meets the individual client’s needs.
  • Execute policy issuance, obtain pertinent signed applications and follow up for policies, including download in agency management system.
  • Support sales and growth objectives of the Agency through cross selling, up selling; and retaining existing business
  • Process incoming mail, faxes, emails, underwriting requests and policy change requests, Evidence of Insurance, ID Cards/Binders.
  • Review Daily Communication Log and process changes/updates accordingly in the agency management system. Use this in conjunction with EPIC Renewals Manager to ensure renewals are being reviewed/remarketed 90+ days in advance as needed.
  • Open Activities must be kept up to date and followed up on in a timely manner and closed out accordingly.
  • Conduct annual Renewal Reviews to make coverage recommendations and address large rate increases on renewal and provide alternate solutions as needed.
  • Respond to carrier questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance as needed.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management and document management systems.
  • Maintain a monthly tracking sheet of policy cancellations (true lost business) to be submitted to management monthly.
  • Handle all aspects of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty Insurance (also to include E&S Policies and Flood). 
  • Participate in any special projects at Management’s request.
  • Maintain a Property & Casualty license along with keeping up with Continuing Education.

EPIC knowledge preferred.

Experience with quoting/servicing the following carrier platforms: Cincinnati, CNA, Hartford, Liberty, Main Street America, Philadelphia, Progressive, Selective, Travelers, and Utica

Candidate must have exceptional time management skills, be able to prioritize and multitask. Must excel with working independently and collaboratively.
