What you will do

The Controller will drive results in the accounting functions that support a cluster of ledgers and countries for the segment EMEALA. This role will serve as advisor to the sub region CFOs and business/operations leaders to ensure accounting and reporting integrity and effective controls and compliance, confirming consistency to US GAAP and Company policy. As a strategic individual, you will lead the reporting and monitoring of actual results and control of financial results consistent with long-term business objectives. You will provide direction, training and counseling to its various stakeholders on a wide variety of business/financial/accounting issues to ensure achievement and alignment of business processes across the enterprise.

How you will do it

  • Proactively work with the business and operations to oversee, review and sign-off on the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes. This includes review of key reserves and account reconciliations, and overall balance sheet and financial metric trends to ensure accuracy and potential gaps. 
  • Ensure that strong controls are implemented and maintained for key projects that include entities migrations and ERP implementations. Identify opportunities and drive movement of activities to the Company’s Center of Excellence (“COEs”) (e.g. Record to Report “RTR”), including standardization. Liaison with cross functional teams (technical accounting, governance, RTR, business unit finance, etc.) and peers to ensure a harmonized environment throughout the Controllership organization. 
  • Monitor and support the internal control function to ensure controls in the represented cluster of countries are adequate, efficient and in line with the Company’s and locally managed policies.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support financial accounting, reporting and control activities for complex transactions within the region (restructurings, supplier contracts, M&A, leases, etc.). 
  • Collaborate with, coach and monitor the RTR teams that support the underlying or transactional details of each region. Create talent pipeline through the Company’s RTR team to strengthen finance functions.
  • Engage and collaborate with FP&A surrounding the plans and forecasts for alignment with business objectives, market opportunities and the ability to execute. Provide recommendations and direction to the management team.
  • Proactively identify business/financial opportunities and corrective actions and implements them or communicates them to management for implementation.
  • Provide financial leadership, training and direction to the financial and operating team to improve their financial and business skills so they can more effectively manage their responsibilities.
  • Identify best business practices and facilitates the propagation of these practices throughout and indirectly impacting the countries/ledgers
  • Provide support for development and enhancement of IT financial and business systems.
  • Provide support for accounting performed at the global business centers for the centralized functions.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 10+ years progressive finance and accounting experience
  • Demonstrated ability to add value to business performance
  • Advanced computer skills including OneStream, Microsoft Office products and financial reporting software
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Public accounting and industrial experience
  • CPA
  • Management of a team with remote members
