Job Description: 

As our James Finlay Americas (JFA) D365 Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in optimising the value JFA obtain from their ongoing investments in ERP. JFA are currently implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) across the organisation as we transition from two legacy ERPs to one modern cloud platform in D365. At the same time, Microsoft Power BI is also being implemented as JFA’s future reporting platform, tightly integrated with D365. 

Join us ASAP and you will get an incredible introduction to the project by supporting the Project Management Office (PMO), Project Sponsor (our JFA CFO!) and our Global Head of IT as we work together to complete remaining project phases which include; several formal test cycles (System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing and Operational Readiness Testing), user training and cutover ahead of our planned ERP go-live on July 1st 2024. 

Thereafter you will play a key role in supporting the JFA organisation through a very significant period of change during hypercare and thereafter you will be a key business partner to JFA business functions as we continue to optimise and improve our business processes and corresponding D365 and related system solutions into the future. 

Based on the above, the key responsibilities below have accordingly been documented to give a sense of how this critical role evolves over time. 

Key Responsibilities Months 1-4 (PMO support focused): 

  • Being the onsite PMO contact point for any topic to be brought to the attention of or escalated to the PMO. 
  • Become the onsite “face of the PMO” meeting relevant business stakeholders and understanding their pain points as well as opportunities for improvement 
  • Create and maintain project documentation (e.g., meeting minutes, status reports, RAID log). 
  • In alignment with PMO, support and participate in relevant project phases across SIT, UAT, Training, Cutover, both to help support project team while increasing your own knowledge of the D365 solution 
  • Maintain project filing systems/structures in Sharepoint. 
  • Coordinate meetings and take minutes/notes. 
  • Track progress on project tasks and deadlines. 
  • Coordinate project communication with stakeholders, i.e. collecting and managing content from PMO and other project team members. 
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members. 

Key Responsibilities Month 4 onwards: 

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather and document new and evolved business requirements, analyze existing processes, and identify areas for improvement 
  • Translate business needs into clear and actionable system requirements 
  • Assist in ongoing system configuration, testing, and deployment activities 
  • Monitor upcoming Microsoft enhancements to D365 and proactively propose relevant improvements to JFA business stakeholders 
  • Grow knowledge of JFA business activities and associated IT application stack to help improve process effectiveness across disparate systems (e.g. optimising how D365 interacts with Salesforce) 
  • Data analysis and reporting: Analyze complex D365 datasets, perform data mapping, and develop meaningful insights to support decision-making processes 
  • Create and deliver comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels 
  • Ongoing change management: Support ongoing organizational change initiatives by facilitating communication, training, and user adoption activities 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth transition and successful implementation of new processes 
  • Project coordination: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring activities 
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure timely completion and adherence to project scope 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in D365 ERP implementation projects or related ERP solutions 
  • Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and best practices 
  • ERP expertise: Reasonable knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) 
  • Power BI or Salesforce experience is highly valued but not required 
  • Analytical skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business problems, data sets, and processes to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities 
  • Proficient in using data analysis tools and techniques 
  • Communication and collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
