Your role

Do you want to join a development team responsible for maintaining and enhancing a suite of applications in the Deferred Compensation domain ?

We’re looking for a software engineer to:

• provide technology solutions to maintain and enhance an existing suite of applications within Finance (closely linked to HR processes)
• help design, plan and deliver sustainable solutions using Azure Webapps, Java, React, REST API and PostgreSQL
• join a small established team of developers in our office in Pune, working with IT and Business leads in Zurich and also the local Pune business team
• providing technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing applications
• perform development, code reviews and test software as needed, along with participating in application architecture and design and other phases of SDLC
• ensure that proper operational controls and procedures continue to be implemented when moving from test to production
• contribute to the migration of applications from on-premise to Azure platform

Your team

You’ll be working in the Finance Deferred Compensation IT team, working from the UBS BSC in Pune.

You will be part of a small team of skilled IT resources to cover maintenance and enhancement of 5 applications

You will bring an enthusiasm to work within our UBS Agile methodology with a modern approach to continuous integration and testing.

You will support the Finance control teams in Pune BSC and Zurich who operate the main day-to-day processes involving our applications.

You will help to define and migrate the applications to a strategic new platform.

Your expertise

Your expertise:

• software engineer/developer focused on developing applications on Unix, PostgreSQL, Java, JSP, React and Autosys
• 7 years of full stack working experience
• experience working with MS Azure cloud, docker, maven, git, CI/CD is an advantage
• experience to know the importance of application of standards, methods, techniques and templates as defined by our SDLC
• produce secure and clean code that is stable, operational, consistent and well-performing
• support the QA role with a push to more automated testing
• experience with Agile Methodology
• experience of working with multi-location teams, good communication skills, sense of responsibility, problem solver, disciplined
