Posting SummaryRutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II for NJMS- Medicine. The primary purpose of the Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRCII) position is to assist a multi-disciplinary and international research team with conducting clinical studies related to tuberculosis and other infectious diseases, public health, and/or clinical imaging with AI-based analyses. This role includes, but is not limited to, preparing for study initiation and activation, preparing study documents, acquisition of source documents, study monitoring visits to ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practices and study protocols, liaising and facilitating communication between team members, and data management.

Among the key duties of this position are the following;

  • Develops, implements, and maintains clinical study documents including IRB protocols, SOPs/MOPs, quality management, and training documents.
  • Provides training to new personnel and oversees implementation and compliance with research protocols and operating procedures.
  • Works closely with international research teams to ensure successful personnel delegation, trainings, procurement, rescreening and enrollment, study procedures, data management and other activities.
  • Travels internationally to conduct site initiation and monitoring visits to ensure study compliance and data integrity, as well as travel for relevant study conferences and trainings.
  • Performs quality control of study data (e.g. clinical, radiologic imaging data) and assists with data analysis
  • Manages regulatory/IRB activities to ensure ethical conduct of human subjects research.
  • Liaises between members of the team, including investigators, data management team, and site teams.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with strong problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills; detail oriented.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical background and/or experience working with clinical imaging modalities (ultrasound, computed tomography)
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) experience strongly
  • Master’s Degree

Equipment Utilized

Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentPhysical Demands:

Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Pushing, pulling and lifting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily office-based setting within a research building containing laboratory and clinic facilities. Travel to international research sites (e.g. Uganda) with visits to their clinic and laboratory facilities. May work in clinical setting with possible exposure to bodily fluids and exposure to infectious and communicable diseases. Proper precautions will be taught and are mandatory.
