1. POSITION DESCRIPTION

EMEA Sales Region requires enthusiastic and motivated engineer to join our sales team for a Book of Account, mainly focused on Space accounts within EMEA region. The key account is represented by the European Space Agency (ESA) that influences locally the entire market. The EMEA Space Account Manager role at National Instruments (NI) is a customer focused role, that also cover the fundamental activity of defining and executing the strategy for the Space Market.

Applying both technical and business acumen skills and in particular acting strategically as an Account Manager, the AM will need to work collaboratively with the NI sales teams and all the other organization functions, to support our customers to engineer ambitiously.

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Achieve/Exceed sales quota for the territory:

Drive towards achieving and exceeding quarterly sales quotas by creating, managing and winning sales opportunities as well as working jointly with appropriate members of the sales team and all the cross-functional resources, to ensure customer’s and NI’s success. Maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline to ensure mid and long-term success.

Maintain high customer contact activity:

Maximize time spent working with customers. Collaborate on the design and execution of Space Market in EMEA. Book, prepare and deliver remote visits and demonstrations. Using active listening; explore new business potential inside customer accounts, find referrals and expand contact base. Engage all the decision makers at different levels, within customer’s organization.

Be an active member of the sales team:

Participate actively in sales meetings and events. Have a motivational attitude with colleagues and express individual thoughts openly and objectively. Provide quality feedback on company issues. 

Provide regular updates:

Provide detailed virtual visit reports, metric information and update opportunities, contacts and accounts within SFDC. Regularly communicate with BU stakeholders to align on market strategy and to timely provide feedback.

Sell all the offering range

Develop required skills to sell the complete offering range, in alignment with ADG BU. Identify areas of training required. Provide feedback about competition. Identify new products required by our customers and provide feedback.

Develop solution selling skills:

Gathering in-depth application understanding and coming up with the appropriate solution for the customer is a key area to be successful in this role. This requires proactive salesmanship and competencies at the offering level of NI ADG portfolio offerings. In addition, it will be required to own AGD and space market insights, which goes along with an understanding of the competitive landscape.

3. REQUIREMENTS

Minimum

  • Hold an Engineering / Science degree or equivalent experience;
  • Technical skills in core and RF NI platforms;
  • Good understand of ADG BU offerings;
  • 4 years of proven high performance experience in a technical or sales role 
  • Active listening
