QA Playtester:

Qualitest are looking for a QA tester to work on testing a VR application. The project requires a basic understanding of testing physical devices, apps or games and good troubleshooting skills.

The project involves testing updates, new features, mostly on VR headsets but may also include testing on web and desktop apps. The candidate will need to have good exploratory skills and an inquisitive mind to test the limitations of the software, hardware and raise bugs. They will also have to document and create test reports and be comfortable with team collaboration. This is an onsite 40/hrs per week role based in NYC.

QA Testers are expected to be capable of functioning independently or as part of a team, analysing and isolating software and hardware failures, and reporting thorough, actionable bugs.

Responsibilities include:

• Test case execution
• Software and hardware bug investigation and reporting
• Bug fix verification
• Reporting to the test lead

Requirements

Skills:

• Strong deductive reasoning
• Clear, accurate and succinct written and verbal communication
• Excellent attention to detail
• Understanding of the software development process
• Experience with commonly used Software Test Management system such as Jira, Bugzilla, Mantis, etc. is not necessary but would be beneficial.
• Experience with Virtual Reality headsets would be useful but not essential.

Education/Experience:

• 1+ year of testing or related experience
• OR
• A recent University Degree
