For our growing Battery Monitoring (BMS) Group, Analog Devices is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer preferably for our Munich, Germany location. This group designs ICs for the battery management in (Hybrid) Electrical Vehicles to drive the world towards a greener future!

Description:

To extend our portfolio, the Functional Safety Team of our growing Battery Monitoring (BMS) Group is looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to develop and analyze safety concepts for state-of-the-art automotive battery monitoring and control ICs and Systems.

The role accompanies the full development life cycle from product idea and concept design, through hardware development, verification, integration and validation, to customer support on safety subjects. By complying with our systematic development flow, the Functional Safety Engineer partners with our applications, design, and verification teams and leads the development of the safety concepts, the safety analyses, and the authoring of the safety-related work products.

Leadership and teamplay qualities to drive systematic practices and advance the state of the art in battery management are expected.

Qualifications:

Minimum BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE/ 5-10 years of experience preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Semiconductor experience in mixed-signal IC design, verification or application engineering;
  • Experience in systematic development for automotive quality;
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills to work effectively with teams and customers spread geographically.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with international safety standards like ISO26262 or IEC61508;
  • Experience in FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA and Fault Injection Analyses;
  • Experience in systems engineering and requirements management;
  • Experience in architectural system and hardware design;
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, analysis and design tools.

Travel Required: Yes, 2% of the time.
